TNCA’s indoor net facility inaugurated

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association inaugurated a new indoor net facility at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here on Friday.

The facility, covering an area of 4000 sq.ft., will have two astro-turfs specially brought from Australia, said U. Prabhakar Rao, vice-president, TNCA.

Speaking at the function, N. Srinivasan, President, TNCA, praised Prabhakar Rao and his team for having put in the “long hours for the facility to become a reality.”

Srinivasan also informed that there was “a possibility of having a stadium in Coimbatore” apart from the ones planned in Theni and Tiruchi.

K. S. Viswanathan, Secretary, TNCA, said that the under-19 selection trials could be held in the indoor facility in case of bad weather. G. Natarajan, Joint Secretary, TNCA, proposed the vote of thanks. — Sports Reporter
