Government terminates Delhi school teacher’s services

New Delhi: The Government on Saturday terminated the services of Uma Khurana, a teacher accused of forcing schoolgirls into prostitution. Private security will soon be deployed at Government schools to prevent such events in future.

“Within two days of having launched an inquiry into the matter, we have decided to terminate her services,” Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely told a press conference here. A two-member panel of the Education Department has gone into the details of a CD from a TV sting operation purportedly showing Ms. Khurana forcing students into sex trade. “Based on the findings of the committee and keeping in view that there have been complaints against her of misbehaviour with children,” Mr. Lovely said. — PTI
