Traditional beginning: Deputy Commissioner K.H. Aswathanarayana Gowda inaugurating the ‘Suvarna Samskruti’ festival in Hassan on Saturday.
HASSAN: Deputy Commissioner K.H. Aswathanarayana Gowda said on Saturday that Hassan district was the seat of inspiration for art, culture and folklore and stressed the need for encouraging them. He was speaking after inaugurating the Suvarna Samskruti festival at Kala Bhavan here. Programmes
As part of the Suvarna Karnataka celebrations, cultural programmes had been held across the district. Local artistes and eminent personalities had been honoured, he added. As part of the festival, a jatha was taken out from Hemavathi Circle to the Kala Bhavan in the city by school and college students, NSS volunteers, Scouts and Guides, Seva Dal workers and folk troupes. Chief Executive Officer of the Hassan Zilla Panchayat F.R. Jamaadar, District Information Officer Rame Gowda, Chitti Mela troupe leader Chidananda Swamy, Dwaja Kunitha troupe leader Jayaram, and Dance bally troupe leader Vatsala Satish participated in the function.
