GUNTUR: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has ridiculed the Opposition campaign that his Government was anti-poor. Addressing a public meeting here on Saturday, Dr. Reddy said the ruling party was committed to its promise of ushering in ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ that symbolises a pro-poor regime. Programmes like Indiramma housing were launched to ensure that all the 60 lakh houseless families were provided with a roof . He said already 19 lakh houses had been taken up in the first phase and another 22 lakh would be constructed.
