Undertrial found dead

NIZAMABAD: An undertrial Banoth Ananta Rao, 38, died under suspicious circumstances in the prisoners’ enclosure at the new district prison on Saturday morning.

Alleging that he died of blows inflicted by the jail authorities, Ananta Rao’s relatives staged rasta roko before the district headquarter hospital. Jail Superintendent M.R. Bhaskar said the inmate committed suicide by hanging himself with a towel tied to iron bars of a window. –Staff Reporter
