Classes for all courses to begin on September 13 Second round of allotment on September 7
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has published the first allotment list for engineering/medical courses - 2007. A press note issued here said allotments have been done to seats in Government colleges, aided colleges, self-financing colleges under the Government and to private self-financing colleges which have entered into a seat-fee agreement with the Government. Mandatory reservation has been given to those in the Ezhava, Muslim, Other Backward Hindus, Other Backward Christians, Latin Catholics other than Anglo-Indians and in the SC/ST categories. As per reservation norms, the Ezhava community will get 75 seats for the MBBS course. Muslims will get 67 seats, Other Backward Hindus, 41 seats and Other Backward Christians, 8 seats. Latin Catholics other than Anglo-Indians will get two seats. All seats in the reserved category, except those for ST candidates, have been fully allotted. For the BDS course, the Ezhava community, Muslims, Other Backward Hindus, Other Backward Christians, Latin Catholics other than Anglo-Indians and the SC community will get 35, 31, 19, 3, 7 and 31 seats respectively. In the first phase, allotment has been done to 14,299 engineering seats, 867 MBBS seats, 379 BDS seats, 381 BAMS seats, 74 B.Pharm seats and 105 B.Arch seats. In all, allotment was made to 17,013 seats on Saturday, the press note said. The second round of allotment will be done on September 7. Candidates will be given the opportunity to register options for seats that remained vacant during the first round of allotment, to 15 pharmacy colleges, 16 nursing colleges and to one college offering the B.Sc / MLT programme. In addition, candidates will also be allowed to register options for colleges that get Government sanction / affiliation from universities / recognition from state-central agencies, the press note said. The course and college allotted to a candidate, the fee to be remitted and other details can be known from the web site www.cee.kerala.gov.in. Candidates allotted to various medical / agricultural courses will have to get admission between September 10 and September 12. Candidates allotted seats for various engineering courses have to get admission in the respective colleges as per the schedule given below. September 10: 9 a.m. — Electronics and Communication (EC), Dairy Science and Technology (DS), Agricultural Engineering (AG); 1 p.m. — Civil Engineering (CE), Instrumentation and Control Engineering (IC) and Bio-medical Engi neering (BM). September 11: 9 a.m. — Mechanical Engineering (ME), Biotechnology and Bio-chemical Engineering (BT), Mechanical (production engineering); 1 p.m. — Industrial Engineering (IE), Computer Science and Enginering (CS), Productio n Plant Engineering (PP), Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering (MA), Automobile Engineering (AU). September 12: 9 a.m. — Electrical and Electronics (EE), Applied Electronics (AE), Electronics and Instrumentation (EI), Printing Technology (PT); 1 p.m. — Information Technology (IT), Chemical Engineering (CH), Polymer Engi neering (PO) and Architecture (AR). The allotment of candidates who fail to get admission in the respective colleges on the scheduled date will be cancelled. Extension of joining time will not be allowed under any circumstances. Candidates who take admission on the specified date can, later, cancel their admission if necessary. For this, the candidate will have to download the ‘Cancellation of Admission’ form from the web site cee.kerala./gov.in and bring it, along with the recommendation of the principal of the college where admission was taken, to the office of the CEE on or before September 15. Then, the allotment given to that candidate and all higher order options in that stream will be cancelled. Classes to all courses will begin on September 13.
