Staff Reporter
Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader M.K. Muneer has said the Government should investigate the alleged irregularities during his tenure as Minister and bring out the truth instead of pointing fingers at him. Referring to the CAG report pointing out irregularities against him, Mr. Muneer told reporters here on Saturday that he would not stop the fight against the ‘wrongs’ of the LDF Government just because of fear of facing allegations. He said he did not know whether the CAG report was a draft or a final report. This report was not tabled before the Assembly and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had not looked into it, he said. The leaking of the report at such a time was done with the purpose of scoring a political point. He said the Government was not able to repair the roads even after the deadline for repairing the same as given by the court expired. Expressing doubts that he was being targeted for being the chairman of the TV channel, Indiavision, Mr. Muneer said that he had only said the channel would break-even in five years and it was not fair to question him as it was now only three-and-a-half years. Replying to questions, he said his party would definitely defend him on the issue.
