Takes over as VSP Director

VISAKHAPATNAM: Chandrasekhar Ghansyam Patil assumed charge as Director (Commercial) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Friday. He took charge from H.S. Chhatwal who retired from service on the day.

Mr. Patil did his B. Tech (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai. He took his graduate diploma in Materials Management from the Indian Institute of Materials Management.

He started his career as Junior Project Engineer in the Project Engineering Department of Rourkela Steel Plant and later joined Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on April 16, 1981 as Assistant Manager (Purchase).

During his tenure in Marketing, Mr. Patil worked in various capacities and contributed in bringing record sales year after year. He made special efforts to promote material consumption in rural areas by appointing District Level Dealers at various locations all over the country.

He visited many countries like Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Germany and China.

He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Vizag Zone of Confederation of Indian Industry, AP Chapter.
