MANGALORE: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Prathishtana, Bangalore, has urged the Government to initiate legal action against Puttur Revenue Sub-division Assistant Commissioner Vasanth Kumar for allegedly abusing its Puttur taluk unit president M. Angara alias Shivappa Attole.Shivappa Renkeda Guttu, president of the prathishtana, told presspersons here on Saturday that A.S. Rani, chief officer of Puttur Town Municipal Council, abused Mr. Angara on August 23 over an official matter. When Mr. Angara brought this to the attention of Mr. Vasanth the next day, he abused the former. Mr. Shivappa said, when he contacted Mr. Vasanth over phone, the official used foul language. If the Government failed to respond, the Dalit organisations would launch an agitation, he added.
