Woman, daughter electrocuted

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A woman and her seven-year-old daughter were electrocuted at their house at Bibi-ka-Chasma in Falaknuma on Friday afternoon.

The girl, Ayesha Begum, was trying to boil water with an electric heater when she came in contact with live wires. Her mother Kaurunissa Begum alias Chand Begum (30) tried to rescue the child, but she too suffered serious burns. Neighbours immediately shifted them to the Owaisi Hospital where doctors declared them brought dead, according to the police.

Ayesha was a first-standard student. The police registered a case and handed over bodies to relatives after conducting an autopsy at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary on Saturday.
