BANGALORE: Sports Authority of India won a humdinger of a match against Indian Air Force (Delhi) in the Synergy Super Division league hockey tournament at the KSHA Stadium here on Sunday. Preet Singh (9th) put IAF into the lead, but I.G. Nanaiah (14th) levelled the scores for SAI. A double strike from Vineet Michael (23rd) and MB Aiyappa (33rd) gave SAI a thin advantage at the first half as Jerome Kujur (32nd) kept his team in striking range. I.G. Nanaiah (47th) and Vineet Michael (69th) saw SAI just clinch the match. Jerome Kujur (61st) and Shahnawaz (67th) made it a closely fought match. Earlier, Madras Engineering Group and Central Excise played out a 0-0 draw. MEG dominated the match but just could not make a successful finish to it numerous raids.
