Ameet Dhakal
KATHMANDU: A series of bomb blasts here on Sunday killed two people and left over 24 injured.
The blasts occurred at Tripureshwor, Sundhara and Balaju between 4.15 and 4.30 p.m.
Home Ministry spokesperson Baaman Prasad Neupane, confirming two deaths, said five of the injured were in a critical condition.
One of the dead was identified as Anita K.C., a high-school student. The second victim, a middle-aged woman, was yet to be identified.
The blast in Balaju ripped through a micro-bus, killing a passenger. The police said it was still not clear if the bomb was planted in the vehicle or hurled from outside.
The second one also went off in a bus at the Tripureshwor bus stop. The explosion injured many school students. The third explosion at Sundhara injured a girl.
