Multimedia meet held

THANJAVUR: A Convention on Multimedia and Internet Technologies was organised by Periyar Maniammai University and Region VII of the Computer Society of India here recently. Students from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka presented papers on the latest innovations in the field.

E. Kirubhakaran, Assistant General Manager, BHEL, said rapid development of multimedia tools had become a dominant factor for creative thinkers.

D. Kumar, chairman, Thanjavur Chapter of CSI, , P. Ravikumar, Registrar in-charge of the University, and Students Branch president Rekha spoke.

S. Sivan, Dean from the National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi, was the chief guest at the valediction. He said the role of multimedia was vital to entrepreneurship of IT-ians.

J. Jeyachitra, G. Krishnamoorthy of San Diego State University, L.J. Subramanian and K. Sughasini conveyed their views on multimedia.
