‘Anna Vahini’ launched
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: YuvaLok Foundation, which is working towards rehabilitation of child labourers, on Saturday, launched “Anna Vahini” under which food and education will be provided at the doorsteps of school dropouts and other children staying in various slums of the city.
Speaking at a function, Sajan George of Mother Teresa Child’s Fund said the service would cater to the children in need. It was appropriate to start the service on the eve of the 10th death anniversary of Mother Teresa, who worked for the cause of the downtrodden.
Sam Rajashekar, founder of YuvaLok Foundation, said the foundation has rehabilitated rag pickers and destitute children.
Starting from four children more than a decade ago, it now runs a school that serves 376 children.
