A painting by Bharat Bhushan Singh
NEW DELHI: Artist Bharat Bhushan Singh has been greatly influenced by the splendour of India’s ancient cities. And the city of Banaras occupies a special place in his heart. Now the works of this talented artist will be showcased at Square One Mall in Saket here from this Thursday to Sunday. Bharat’s artistic impressions have a well-fitting combination of realism and abstractionism. He seems to have mastered the art of light and shadow and makes a genuine effort to find harmony in the chaotic city life. Born in Bihar in 1965, Bharat did his M.F.A. in painting from Banaras Hindu University. For his creativity and understanding of the medium he has received several prestigious awards over the years. He has been honoured with awards at the Annual Art Exhibition-1995, Faculty of Visual Art, BHU Varanasi; Sketch Competition-1998, Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU; Charles A. King Fine Arts Exhibition Painting (Traditional) I.T., BHU; Kashi Yatra -1989 Sketch Competition, I.T., BHU,; and the All-India Fine Arts and Crafts Society. Hosted by Chawla Art Gallery, the exhibition will have a preview at its Saket premises here on Wednesday and will be inaugurated by Satish Gujral.
