KOCHI: One little Krishna holding his mother’s hand got behind her sari when he saw a Parasuram with a long red beard and an axe walking almost up to them. Another boy was dressed up as Vasudev, taking a little Krishna in a basket protected by the Nagaraja’s hood. And there were numerous little Krishnas dressed in yellow or white dhotis, holding a flute and a peacock feather on the small tiara. Making a pretty picture were the Gopikas and Radhas. Not to miss out were the Pandava friends of Krishna. All of them were out on the roads in a maha Sobha Yatra organised by Balagokulam celebrating the birth of Lord Sree Krishna. While one little Krishna tried to keep his little tiara from falling, another was busy having some snack. A ‘chendamelam’ led the procession followed by a rath, after which came the little children making it a sea of col ours. The procession from Town Hall was flagged-off by the former judge C.S. Rajan. The Balagokulam units from Edappally and Thrikkakara gathered there. The other centres in the city from where many smaller groups joined the Sobha Yatra were T.D. Road Temple, where the procession was inaugurated by Dr. C.K. Ramachandran, Ayyappan Kavu, inaugurated by the former judge K. Bhaskaran, a nd Ravipuram Temple, where M.A. Krishnan, founder of Balagokulam, inaugurated the procession. All the units joined together at South Junction and proceeded to the Durbar Hall grounds where the procession ended.
