Dies in freak accident

PUDUKOTTAI: A 32-year-old farmer was killed on Saturday when a submersible motor fell on his head while he was about to fit it inside the farm well. Police said C. Kumarappan alias Selvam was working in the well, owned by his father-in-law, at Perunkondanviduthi village to fit the motor after servicing it. The chain tied to the motor snapped all of a sudden and the motor fell on his head.

He was rushed to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
