Kitchen Garden project launched

KORAPUT: A Kitchen Garden project was launched in Malkangiri district by Chief Manager of NABARD S. Abdur Karim at Korkunda block headquarter of the district.

Under the scheme, a sum of Rs. 3.5 crores would be spent in the next eight years for the benefit of 1,000 beneficiaries from the district, he said.

The programme would be operational in 16 villages of Chalanguda and Tandiki panchayats.

Mango and cashew plantations would be taken up on a large scale to facilitate social and economic development of the poorer sections of society, said Bhaskar Behera , director of Sahid Laxman Nayak Samiti, which would manage the programme.

Collector Manish Verma inaugurated a bulletin on the programme.
