PUDUCHERRY: The Forest Department organised an educational tour for school students who won prizes in various competitions conducted during the Wild Life Week celebrations last year. As many as 35 students were taken to Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and Top Slip, both in Coimbatore district, and to the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary for three days last month. The students were exposed to the ecosystem, and the duties and responsibilities of forest officers and the risks they were involved in. The tour had been organised in co-ordination with the Education Department, the release added.
