Two wickets down, more to go
There are only few in Kerala politics who can beat Kerala Congress (Secular) leader P.C. George when it comes to punch lines. Mr. George, though a bit wan after the LDF leadership showed him the door, was at his caustic best when he described T.U. Kuruvilla’s exit from the LDF Cabinet.
Using cricket jargon, in keeping with the season, he said, “two wickets are down, there are more to go. What can I do? I would have loved to bowl the ball that the Opposition bowled today.
No problem, I will still have more chances.”
He soon switched over to the language of the native and said only small fish have fallen in the net so far and his target was the Pearl Spot, a delicacy from the backwaters. He wouldn’t say who the Pearl Spot is.
