Robbed of security

The daylight burglary at seven multi-storied residential complexes in the city on Monday has baffled the police and shaken apartment dwellers out of the sense of security in community living.

The brazen manner in which the burglars broke into the apartments and decamped with cash and valuables has highlighted the need to review the security system in such complexes.

Safety factor is one of the major reasons why city residents, especially senior citizens living alone, prefer apartments to independent houses.

All the apartment buildings in the city are provided with security staff.
