VANIYAMBADI: One of the three persons has been arrested for allegedly provoking a man to commit suicide here on Tuesday. Police said Palani (37) of Kalaraipettai in Alangayam, employed as mastry, had borrowed some money from a person at Vaniyambadi. The mastry was not in a position to repay the borrowed amount. Under these circumstances three persons — Murugan, Raja and Mohan — on Monday visited Palani’s house and abused him with foul language. They even physically attacked him.
Unable to bear the shame Palani consumed poison. He died on the way to the Government Hospital in Vaniyambadi. A complaint was lodged against the three persons for provoking Palani to commit suicide. Based on the complaint, the Alangayam police arrested Mohan. The police were looking for Raja and Murugan who were absconding.
