CHANDIGARH: The Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda has condemned alleged attacks by “armed mobs of miscreants” on the houses of Dera followers in Punjab. In a statement, Dera’s official spokesman Aditya Insan said the alleged attack on the houses of Dera followers at Alampur Mandran village in Mansa district of Punjab on Monday was “a clear picture of fundamentalist frenzy in the name of Sikhism, coupled with police facilitation and apathy”. He said in a democratic state that guarantees certain fundamental rights to all citizens, anyone insisting that Dera followers will not be allowed to hold kirtans even within the confines of their houses was preposterous.
