Court orders CBI inquiry

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered a CBI inquiry into the murder of T.M. Varghese, managing trustee of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church at Perumbavoor. Justice K.P. Balachandran issued the directive on a petition filed by Saramma Varghese, wife of Varghese, seeking a CBI probe into the murder. The murder took place on July7, 2002. The petitioner sought CBI inquiry as the police had not been able to make any headway in the investigation of the crime. — Special Correspondent
