Thiruvananthapuram: The Forest Department is organising a poster competition for school and college students and a photography competition in connection with this year’s Wildlife Week celebrations. Separate poster competitions will be held for school and college students on the topic ‘Tears of domesticated elephant.’ The poster should be made on paper of A3 size using watercolour or acrylic. The poster should preferably be sent in cardboard tubes to avoid damage to them and should be accompanied by a certificate from the head of the institution. Subjects
The subjects of the photography competition are forest and wildlife of Kerala. The participants should sent prints of 30 by 20 cm size. Digital photographs will also be considered. The negative or the CD of the picture should also be sent. The entries should be accompanied by details such as the lens and film used, film speed, aperture, where the photograph was taken, the date and time, and the photographer’s name, address and telephone number. A person can send more than one entry but will be eligible for only one prize. There is no entry fee. The first three entries will be given cash prizes of Rs.5,000, Rs.3,000 and Rs.1,000, respectively, and certificates. The entries for both the competitions should reach the Chief Wildlife Warden, Forest Headquarters, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram - 14 before September 25.
