Rajesh sizzles

BANGALORE: Rajesh’s three-in-a-row tilted the scales in favour of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s 3-2 victory over Indian Air Force (Delhi) in the Synergy Super Division league hockey tournament at the KSHA Stadium here on Tuesday.

Jerome Kujur (11th and 22nd) struck twice for IAF (Delhi) and till the last 15 minutes of play the IAF team nursed hopes of a facile victory. However, HAL found its man of the moment in Rajesh who slotted home the Super Division’s first hat-trick (56th, 61st and 66th).

In another match, Fortis and Central Excise played out a 1-1 draw. Kulbhushan (8th) scored for Fortis and Kishore (19th) logged the equaliser for Central Excise.
