Patna: The flood situation in Bihar improved on Tuesday with major rivers receding even as the toll in the current deluge rose to 610 with 22 more deaths reported in the State since Monday. Twelve people died in East Champaran, three in Darbhanga, two each in Samastipur, Khagaria and Madhepura and one in Nalanda, the State disaster management control room said. All major rivers were receding in the absence of rains in the catchment areas, Central Water Commission officials said. Though Bagmati, Burhi Gandak, Kosi, Mahananda and Adhwara group of rivers were receding, they were still flowing above the danger at some points.- PTI
