Solution to unified service rules soon

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: Uncertainty over unified service rules for teachers will end by the end of next month after Minister for School Education C. Damodar Rajanarasimha and MLCs clarify doubts raised by the Centre in a day or two, according to G. Srinivasulu Naidu, MLC.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the file was before President Pratibha Patil. Mr. Naidu said due to a case pending in the Apex Court there was delay in transfers/promotions of teachers.

On the reported proposal of the ruling party to promote a teachers’ federation, Mr. Naidu suggested the Congress to rethink as it would create differences among teaching community and affect education.

In order to sort out problems of teachers at the district-level itself, it was decided to hold a meeting of DEOs, MEOs and leaders of various unions on September 11 in Srikakulam, September 12 in Vizianagaram and September 13 in Visakhapatnam, he said.

Gopal Reddy, Regional Joint Director, Kakinada, would attend the meetings and discuss their problems.
