BJP supports demand for creation of Anamalai constituency

Staff Reporter

POLLACHI: The State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), L. Ganesan, has said that the party would support the demand for creation of the Anamalai Assembly constituency as announced in the draft scheme of the Delimitation Commission. Mr. Ganesan, who was at Anamalai to address the party workers’ meeting recently said the new constituency would be helpful in highlighting the problems of tribal people, who have been residing in sizeable number here.

On the plight of coconut growers, he said that the Government should implement total prohibition otherwise it should permit toddy-tapping for the benefit of coconut farmers. Mr. Ganesan said the party plan to organise a rally in Thanjavur on September 13 to highlight various demands of farmers.
