Sangareddy: Even as the Medak police deployed speed check machines on two of its three highways, the accident on National Highway 7 on Monday in which eight members of a family died indicates the need of more such machines to control speeding vehicles.
The Medak highway patrolling wing booked 170 cases of speeding on National Highway 9 and Rajiv Rahadari in just one month of time with the help of the two machines supplied to them. However shortage of machines led the police to leave the NH7 unchecked. Looking at the increasing need for these machines the police have placed order for more machines to cater to the busy Sangareddy-Nanded road.
