Virudhunagar: Host Sethu Institue of Technology prevailed over Shanmughnathan College of Engineering, Pudukottai 5-3 via the tie-breaker to win title in the Anna University Zone IX inter-engineering college football tournament at Kariapatti on Monday. At the regulation time the teams had shared two goals. Prabakaran scored for SIT and Selvam scored for Shanmughnathan College. In the tie-breaker Prabakaran, Prabakar, Ravichandran and Ravi scored for SIT. Selvam and Muthukumar scored for Shanmughnathan College. In the zone X final at Charan Maghadevi near Ambasamuthiram, Dr. Sivandi Aditanar College Tiruchendur beat Francis Xavier Engineering College 2-1 via tie-breaker, after the teams were locked goalless at the regulation time.
