Immoral Traffic Act amendments opposed

NEW DELHI: To discuss the proposed amendments to the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, by the Government, the executive committee of Bhartiya Patita Uddhar Sabha held a meeting here on Tuesday.

The meeting was held under the leadership of Khairati Lal Bhola who opposed the proposed amendments to the Act on the grounds of their being anti-sex workers.

He also pointed to other objectionable clauses in the Act and appealed to the Government to look into the problems faced by sex workers before amending the existing clauses of the Act.
