Stop forcible land acquisition, says BJP

Correspondent

Kakinada: BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya has expressed his strong opposition to the forcible acquisition of land for the SEZ and asked the Chief Minister to stop ‘coercion’ of farmers and arrange proper relief and resettlement package to the displaced.

Addressing a series of village meetings in Uppada Kothapalli and Thondangi mandals that were affected by the SEZ, as a part of the fact-finding field visit by the party special committee on Wednesday, he said if the Chief Minister did not change his stance he will face the wrath of people like Nandigam in West Bengal.

He said adequate compensation should be provided to both farmers and rythu coolies without showing any discrimination, as both were inseparable and having identical problems.
