Stanley reservoir attains full level

METTUR: The Stanley reservoir here has surplussed for the fourth time during the present irrigation season, attaining its Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 120 feet on Tuesday night.

PWD officials told The Hindu that inflow into the dam had been steadily increasing since Tuesday morning following heavy rain in the catchments in Karnataka.

The dam’s water level on Wednesday stood at 120.470 feet, with a live storage of 94.220 tmcft.

The reservoir has surplussed 38 times so far and achieved Full Reservoir Level for a record seven times in 1959.
