“Make use of clay idols”

MADURAI: Collector S.S. Jawahar has appealed to all sections of people to co-operate in the peaceful conduct of Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations. In a press release, Mr. Jawahar said that processions should be taken out only on the route permitted. Idols should be made only of clay. Immersion would be permitted at Vaigai river, Keezhathoppu, Othakadai tank, Vadipatti Kumaram tank, Melakkal Ayyanar temple tank, Kundaru Maravankulam tank, Mottaikulam Saptur tank, Thevankurichi tank and Mankatti Teppakulam, Melur.
