BANGALORE: In an interesting development, Public Works and Energy Minister H.D. Revanna on Wednesday called on Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at the latter’s residence here and held discussions. Mr. Revanna’s visit at a time when the countdown has begun for the transfer of power to the BJP and also when the elections to the urban civic bodies are fast approaching, has given room to speculations in political circles. But, Mr. Yediyurappa told presspersons that they did not discuss political issues and the meeting was strictly confined to discussions on some development projects. Both Mr. Yediyurappa and Mr. Revanna were tight-lipped on the specific issues that were discussed. In fact, the purpose of Mr. Revanna’s visit has led to curiosity in the BJP itself. Some BJP leaders are of the view that though the political issues were not on the meeting’s agenda, the visit could be aimed at creating confusion ahead of transfer of power and civic polls.
