Look who is talking!
Interesting anecdotes on the life and times of M.P. Manmadhan were unveiled at the ceremony for distribution of the award instituted in memory of the late leader. Former Union Minister O. Rajagopal had spent more than a month with Manmadhan in the same cell of the jail during the Emergency.
Manmadhan had the habit of listening to the radio while being in prison. One day, he heard a speech on discipline by a political leader, telecast on the radio. The speaker was a student, dismissed from the college for indiscipline when Manmadhan was its Principal.
In fact, there was pressure on the Principal to readmit the student, but Manmadhan stuck to his stand and opted to resign.
