Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will honour three progressive farmers of the State during the annual Kisan Mela on September 13 for their contribution to the agriculture sector. The Sardar Daleep Singh Memorial Award will be given to Nawanshahr farmer Kartar Singh Sekhon for initiating diversification in dairy, apiaries, horticulture, floriculture and vegetable production in addition to traditional crops, an official release said. The NRI Award will be conferred on Balwinder Singh Tikka of Abbul Khurana village in Malout in appreciation of his work in horticulture and use of drip irrigation system. The Sardar Ujagar Singh Dhaliwal award will be given to Meharban Singh of Patiala for commendable vegetable production.
