DAVANGERE: The Doddaballapur Agriculture Produce Marketing Corporation (APMC) owes Rs. 47 lakh plus interest to the Davangere APMC. The latter has decided to write to the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing to direct the Doddaballapura APMC to repay the loan amount along with the agreed interest accrued since from the date of securing the loan. B.M. Sathish, president of Davangere APMC, and vice-president A.E. Nagaraj told presspersons said that Davangere APMC lent Rs. 47 lakh to the Doddaballapur APMC on May 16, 1996. The then Deputy Commissioner of Chitradurga (Davangere was taluk headquarters in Chitradurga district then) Amitha Prasad, who was the administrator of the APMC had sanctioned the loan amount to Doddaballapur APMC. But, the Doddaballapura APMC had neither bothered to return the loan nor had it paid the interest, Mr. Sathish said.
