Restoration of paddy fields soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran said here on Thursday that works for restoration of dikes and paddy fields damaged in heavy rains and floods in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Palakkad districts would begin in two weeks.

The Cabinet had sanctioned Rs.1.75 crore for the work.

A meeting of local members of the Assembly, district and block panchayat members, members of padasekhara committees would be convened in a week to discuss execution of the works.
