Krishnagiri: Minister for Health K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandiran conducted a surprise check at the Krishnagiri Government Hospital here on Wednesday. The Minister inspected the construction of additional buildings under the Tamil Nadu Health System Project (TNHSP). He said to engineers that they would be made to task if they did not complete the work within the stipulated time. The Minister later visited the casualty ward, maternity ward and general ward and interacted with patients on the treatment being given to them. He also checked with authorities on whether all adequate medicines had been stocked in the district. Later the Minister reviewed the Varumun Kappom Thittam, National Rural Health Mission and other schemes of the Directorate of Public Health at a meeting in the Collectorate. The Minister asked the Doctors to spell out what they want specifically. Mr. Ramachandiran launched the Varumun Kappom Thittam software during the meeting. Vacancies of doctors and Chevaliers in the Government hospitals and primary health centres in the district would be filled soon. Action would be taken against authorities concerned if there were not adequate doctors present at health centres. The Minister asked officials on how many outpatients visited the primary health centres and Government hospitals in rural areas. The Ministry would initiate stringent action against authorities of PHCs which report minimal strength of outpatients. He also checked on the status of institutional deliveries and other vital health indicators in the district. The Government has upgraded PHCs at Veppanapalli and Alapatti he said. The Minister applauded the District Collector for setting up the Trauma Resuscitation Centre on the NH-7 in Hosur under public-private partnership. The centre is one of the first of its kind in the State he said. Efforts would be taken to set up Trauma Care Centres through public-private partnership in other districts Mr. Ramachandiran added. The Government has allotted an amount of Rs.2.10 crore under the TNHSP to upgrade and provide infrastructure in the Krishnagiri GH. It has also allotted an estimate of Rs.3.41 crore to upgrade and provide infrastructure in the Uthangarai and Pochampalli Government hospitals. Similarly a sum of Rs.80 lakh has been allocated for construction of additional buildings in the Hosur Government Hospital. Corrections and clarifications
