VIZIANAGARAM: CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu has said that the appointment of three monitoring committees through G.O. 1176 for the implementation of Koneru Ranga Rao committee report is an “half-baked” attempt of the State Government.
At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Raghavulu said that such an administrative machinery except change of individuals/ministers existed in the past and the government had failed to implement GOs in letter and spirit. “The present attempt is like handing over keys to a thief,” he said. He demanded the government to constitute an autonomous administrative machinery with a retired official as chairman to prove its genuinity in the implementation of Ranga Rao panel recommendations. Further, he asked the government to constitute district-level committees with an official of Joint Collector rank besides involving representatives of political parties. As for the lands in the scheduled areas were concerned, he pointed out that the government rejected a majority of recommendations.
