KOLAR: Teaching small children is a tough task. All the more reason for imparting psychology education to primary school teachers to understand a child’s mind and teach them effectively, the former chairman of Legislative Council and MLC V.R. Sudarshan said. He was addressing the district-level Teachers’ Day function at Chennaiah Rangamandira here on Wednesday. The function was organised by the zilla panchayat and Department of Education. Mr. Sudarshan asked the officers to evolve creative activities involving teachers to make the event meaningful. Inaugurating the function, Minister for Municipal Administration R. Srinivas exhorted the teaching community to work towards inculcating a scientific outlook among students. The online system introduced to disburse salaries of teachers would be extended to more districts soon, he said. This will help to reduce problems faced by teachers in getting their salary on time, he said. Presiding over the programme, Kolar MLA K. Srinivas Gowda emphasised the role of teachers in eradicating social evils. Zilla Panchayat President V. Venkatamuniyappa and Deputy Commissioner G. Ramachandra addressed the gathering. Several teachers were felicitated on the occasion.
