11 killed in ashram stampede near Jabalpur

Jabalpur: Eleven persons, including eight women, were killed and nearly 20 injured, two of them critically, in a stampede during a “healing camp” at an ashram at Bharra village, near here, on Thursday.

“A magisterial probe has been ordered into the stampede at a healing camp organised by one Sarota Baba, alias Ishwaridas,” Madhya Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi, who visited the site, told PTI.

Sarota Baba had been holding such camps with claims of curing diseases with herbs.
