Sting operation on campus

The otherwise peaceful atmosphere on Osmania University campus was marred on the other day when students took to roads following the telecast of a sting operation by a newly launched television channel.

One of its reporters posed as a prospective student and a professor was alleged to have made overtures to her.

When the reporter of this channel was covering ‘live’ the students’ demonstrations, some students interrupted the live coverage alleging that the channel was tarnishing the image of the university and that the media was wasting its time on the issue.

Significantly, the same batch of students who condemned the media had sought removal of the teacher from the university rolls.
