‘Jugalbandi’ to enthral Chennaiites

Chennaiites never had it so good. After the scintillating performance by Bombay Jayashree and Shubha Mudgal last week, they are in for another musical treat. And which again is free.

Saxophone maestro Kadri Gopalnath is teaming up with gifted flute exponent Ronu Majumdar in a concert to mark the 60th year of Independence. Other musicians who will perform at the “India’s Unity in Diversity” concert include pakhawaj exponent Durga Prasad, Patri Satish Kumar on the mridangam and B. Rajasekhar on the morsing.

The “jugalbandi” will explore the various dimensions of Carnatic and Hindustani classical music and the harmony that underlies them.

The concert is being organised by the Sri Siddha Bala Peetam, Kallidaikurichi. It will be held at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday (September 8) at the Raja Annamalai Mandram in Parrys.
