THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even if an artist creates a nude painting or one that hurts people’s sensibilities, people should not lose their calm and start burning buses, founder of the Art of Living movement Sri Sri Ravishankar has said. There is no problem with nude paintings per se. There are nude or semi-nude statues or figures in many temples. “It is the intention behind the painting that makes all the difference. If the intention is to hurt other people’s sensibilities and sentiments then what the artist did is wrong,” he said. Mr. Ravishankar was participating in an interactive session at the Bharateeya Institute for Advanced Study and Research after delivering a talk on ‘India’s Role in a Global Millennium.’
