Advocate’s death condoled

People’s Watch, a human rights organisation, has condoled the death of P. V. Bhaktavatsalam, advocate and founder, Organisation for Civil and Democratic Rights. In a press release, the People’s Watch recalled that Bakthavatsalam advocated as early in the 1970s that the achievement of socio-economic and cultural rights was more important than political and civil rights. It termed the loss as irreplaceable to organisations working for human rights.
