Indian men triumph

HYDERABAD: Indian men’s team won the 2nd Asian carrom championship team title, defeating Sri Lanka 3-0 in the final in Nagpur.

In the first singles, Radhakrishnan defeated Goonewardhene 25-17, 25-7 while R. Arokiaraj got the better of Nishanta Fernando 25-6, 25-6 to give the host a 2-0 lead.

In the third singles match, Sandeep Deorurkhar defeated Chamil Cooray 25-10, 25-5 to complete the sweep.

Other results:

Semifinals: India bt Bangladesh 3-0; Sri Lanka bt Maldives 3-0.
