Rain plays spoilsport

HYDERABAD: Madhya Pradesh scored 38 for no loss in 16 overs against Hyderabad on the first day of the 77th all-India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup (three-day) cricket tournament at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Uppal) here on Thursday.

After overnight rains rendered the ground unfit for most of the day, play finally commenced at 4.00 p.m.

The first day’s play of all the other matches scheduled for the day was abandoned.
